Nov 28 Episode of American Pickers

 I do not know the gentleman personally, however a friend of mine knows him and told me a bit about him.

Evidently the gentleman's grandfather started a bicycle shop in York in the early 1900's. I believe he also sold Harley Davidson motorcycles at some point. The business passed through another family member or two after the grandfather died. Eventually, no one in the family wanted it so this gentleman ended up with tons of bicycle and motorcycle parts. 

At some point his interest turned to trains. 

It sounded to me like the gentleman is a bit eccentric. That's about all I know. I did not see the episode personally. 

Well, he sure knew his stuff and Mike & Frank bought some pretty expensive stuff from him. His train room has walls of Lionel equipment, most in original boxes.

Mike and Frank tend to avoid trains after getting burned on that Lionel standard gauge set a few years ago.

The trains were in the house, not where all the other stuff was. The only reason they went in is because that's where the Lindberg prop was stored.

Saw it last night. I was more interested in his 1966 Corvette 427/425HP convertible. Got the impression he thought everything he had was gold. I did like his NS hat.

I also noticed the NS hat right off and I'm not even a train guy. I loved the Corvette too, but I thought it sounded a little bad when he first started it up. If it was cold, he shouldn't have revved it like that either. He did price one item for $2,000 and Mike said it was worth $2,500. Mike didn't seem bothered by any of the prices, butt hen I don't know how choreographed the show is.
