Just received 3 of my Lionel heritage units, CNJ, Virginian and the Illinois terminal. All I can say is wow. Nice job by Lionel.

Detail on these units is very nice, seems they upgraded the  sounds from previous SD70ACe's. I like it allot.   Paint is well applied and the shine is not too much but for me I wanted the paint to look like right from the paint shop and how they looked in Spencer NC last year. Lionel hit it on the nose. Speaking of the nose door, they are on the correct side of the nose. Lights are correct front and back for the SD70ACe.

The shine is not for everybody but for me Lionel  nailed these units as they came from the factory.

Pics will follow tomorrow.

The headlights are in the right position, still looking for to see how the rear lights are positioned. Tough to find pictures of the rear of the real locomotives. . But from what I have seen they are right also.

On the I.T. the top of the loco is black where From pictures it looks like a dark grey but hard to tell from photos Of the real thing.

The major detail points seem to be correct so I am very happy with mine.

David, just curious one question, why CNJ in road number 1834 instead of 1071?

Well it seems that nobody who bought these great engines have O31 so your best bet is to go to your LHS and test one out.
