Cant wait to pick up mine!!!! Looks great!!!
Very nice Marty. Best of luck.
Here's the video....
That's one good looking, and very, very long ABA set, Marty and Dotty. Compared to an F3/7 set, it'd take an ABBA set to match the E8's ABA length!
Thanks for the photos and video.
Boy. this is some day. First I hear in an earlier post that they're almost here...and now here's honest-to-God-proof!! They look great. Love the color. Can't wait to receive my delivery. Thanks for posting!

Come on MTH!! What about me?????
Slap some 2 rail wheels and screw on those pilots.
Very nice Marty. I'm really jealous!
Marty, they are as beautiful as your your layout. Congratulations. Are these MTH or Lionel Legacy? Either way, They are a WOW! Happy Railroading.
Congratulations Marty, beautiful diesels.
Peter (our Doctor friend) can't wait to get his.
Wow. Really look nice!
Beautiful , Marty!!!!
Awesome! Love the color. Can't wait to see them in person!
Very nice set, thanks for the video.
Your truck color is dead on.
Very cool!
Congratz Marty!
Does anyone know the story behind why NYC went with that color?
Sure is awesome!
That's a color that really "pops", nice looking set!
Very nice looking set of E units.
Were they passenger E's or freight?
Marty they look great, enjoy them !!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice Marty - Can you discern any noticeable difference in the sound quality of PS3 diesels compared to earlier PS2 engines?
Sam, this one is loud. Early PS3 sounds were not.
Unknown at this time what cars I will be using with it. I break in every engine for a while before hooking onto cars. I have a few cars so it may not be an issue.
You got me with "Now arriving New York..." a really good looking train and sound is awesome.
Have fun with it.
Congratz Marty!

If you scroll through this link to RailPictures, you'll see the photo I posted along with a narrative that says only the E8 in the picture, an E7B, and an E8A were painted in Jade green:

If you scroll further, you'll see a photo and narrative describing other NYC E8's painted other shades of green.
Sweet looking E units. Congrats.
Are the inner wheels blind?
Very nice Marty!!
Very cool! Any idea if they shipped or will be shipping the PRR version? I think the were in the same catalog - not that it means anything...
Thanks!!!
No idea on the shipping.
I like them. Thanks for posting.
Sharp looking.
Marty & Dot,
Great looking aqua NYC, fantastic stuff!

Does anyone know the story behind why NYC went with that color?
I've actually read and heard someplace that the Jade green color is actually called "Century Green." The color was originally supposed to be used as a variant in place of the "Cigar Band Logo. " Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on whether you like the paint scheme or not, the paint was only tested and used on the E8 locomotives because railroad executives thought the color was too "bold" to be used on other locomotives. Now granted they did use the color on box cars and cabooses, but that was for better visibility and easier to repaint. There have also been claims that the paint was rust and weather proof, or so they say. To me it sounds like a New York Central version of the paint used on the MTA Redbird.
Now I don't know exactly who picked the color but there have been reports that Don Wetzel's wife picked the paint color from a swatch of colors. Again, I don't know for certain if that it true.
Really nice engines Marty. Good luck with them.
SL: That's very interesting. Thanks for the information.
Very nice Marty. Best of luck.
I know what you're thinking Don...
resist the urge....resist the urge... even though it IS a beautiful set!
If it was a Railking, I'd be all over this set! Good news, I can keep saving for the Big E!

UPS tracking says that mine has arrived in Richmond.......should get it tomorrow!
Wow! Thanks for the pics and video Marty & Dottie......it's more beautiful than I imagined.
The nice thing about having late New York Central motive power, is that you can run ALMOST ANYTHING with it and say it's another example of the Penn Central's concept of deferred maintainence!

Nice. Reminds me of the NY Jets colors. I wonder if the Jets took their colors from the NYC?
The Jets are The Gang Green.
Craig, unlike Ted Bertiger's Jets, these are winners.
