If you've ever watched a video of the aftermath cleanup of a derailment, it's likely the cleanup will be done by R.J. Corman.

They have some cool customized(?) equipment.

Been thinking it would be cool to collect some of that equipment.

Well, it looks like the first piece will be coming to my collection early next year.

My question is has anyone seen any o-gauge R.J. Corman equipment?

Regarding the SD40t-2 #3314 Legacy loco exclusive To Gryzboski’s , there should be some clarification. PEr rr picture, there are 9 sd40t-2 under RJ Corman and 8 under RJ Corman Railroad Kentucky Lines. Gryzboski’s states that the 3314 pulls the aluminum train, and even has a picture of an RJCRr sd40t-2 with that road number. However, While the Gryzboski’s model looks like an RJ Corman SD40t-2, from what I’ve found RJ Corman’s #3314 is an SD40-2.  I love Gryzboski’s, love doing business with them, very helpful and highly recommend them. just thought this point was worth bringing up and hopefully can be refuted

E-Z Catch train shop has some MTH custom Corman railking sw1200 's on the way in two cab numbers

Would those be considered as locos pulling trains outside of the yard, i.e., making trips out to derailment sites? I've always considered switchers as in yard locos or very short distances outside of yards.

The R.J. Corman Company HQ is in Lexington, KY - about 90 miles from my house and 10 minutes from my daughter's house.

Have you considered just calling R.J. Corman by phone?  Otherwise, I visit Lexington about 1 time per month and I could stop by their yard if you are looking for specific pics... they always have a pair of SD40-2 Diesels on display on the track at the front of their HQ...

Appreciate the offer to stop by their yard.

When I first started researching the company, I didn't realize they also had shortlines. I thought their only business was derailment site cleanups. And I see they have a lot more than those 2 operations.

Haven't made up my mind yet if I want to add a caboose and loco to my collection of R.J. Corman rolling stock (only have a flat car with an excavator and just ordered an American Crane).

I've watched a lot of videos of them cleaning up derailment sites and seems like all I see are a lot of flat bed trucks which I'm guessing is how they get their equipment to a derailment site.

I did a search on MTH's website and found 6 cabooses and 2 locos. Also found one caboose and 2 locos (just different cab numbers) on the Lionel site.

Thinking I may buy the caboose as I could say they use that for the office at the derailment site, but again, I've not seen one in any of their videos.

I'm just trying to keep my expenses down unless I feel really strong about something. Already got way too many pieces (can I say that?).

quite some time ago LCCA did two RJ Corman Lionel traditional size boxcars.

This year they also did a Lionel RJ Corman gondola w/ coil covers 2201230, they had some for sale at York.

2201230

@ed h - Any idea of the Lionel SKU of those 2 boxcars issued by LCCA?

I found one boxcar on eBay, but they didn't show the end of the box that would have had the SKU on it.

I've decided to pursue building an R.J. Corman train with whatever I can find.

Currently have on order an American Crane and a flag car with a scoop/steam shovel on it.

Found a caboose on eBay; just waiting to hear back as I've got questions for the sellers.

Now trying to decide which loco to pull it with: GP-20 (30-20610-1) or SD40-2 (20-20991-1 or 20-20992-1). Any pros/cons about either?

The two boxcars do not have an official Lionel SKU. Reason being the cars cars were not decorated by Lionel.  On one end of the box there is a note to the the effect of parts manufactured and supplied by Lionel, decoration is done by a Lionel approved vendor. Attached are two photos of the cars. The cars were offered at the 2001 LCCA convention, they are known as "onsite" items by the LCCA. The LCCA website has a fairly comprehensive listing/photos off all items they offered thru the years. Hope this info helps.

Thanks for the info and the pics.

I found a listing for boxcar 4002 on eBay.

Also found a caboose and some locos.

Still haven't made up my mind if I want rolling stock only or want to add boxcars, caboose, and a loco. Decisions. Decisions.

Bid on "4002" and was winning until 5second before the auction ended. Someone raised it $20 in one bid!

Just have to keep looking
