I purchased a Kresge version of this store as a gift for my Dad.  This will be his first model project.  He is a skilled woodworker and has years of furniture refinishing experience,  so it should be a project he would enjoy.

I would like to put together a supply kit to go along with this building.  He will have the glues and basic tools,  but none of the paints or specialty tools.  Any advice as to what I should include in this supply kit would be appreciated. Thank you

John

Thank you guys for the ideas!

I can make the Franking Sign available too.

My Web site still under construction for few more days so any question please feel free to contact me at andreemd@gmail.com

John,

The prototype was painted using spray cans:

-grey primer

-flat black

-red

-Flat white.

Lettering I used golden acrylic paint.

Glue, I recommend tide-bond III (green) for the structure.

Some CA for glass and frames. Katz CA doesn't leave the white haze after you apply it.

Any other question please contact me.

Andre.

You are an inspiration, and so is your work.

I am about to roll out my very first kit. I am working out the final details on an 1886 Eastlake Victorian house that sits on our local museum property.

I have been sweating a little for enough time for all this- a LOT of 3:30 a.m. risings to work on the kits until I have to get ready for my day job in the medical field.

Thanks so much! It is great to know that this can be done, even after a career at HP.

All the best!

Nice looking house.  Can't wait to see a model of it.
