I have a set just like them and I would spray them before I used them I have several Walthers decals but never used them yet
Very cool they look great
I bought a whole case of NKP piggyback cars in 92 to repaint but never did. Not sure if I want to repaint them now.
Always nice to see your work, Lee! My layout expansion will have a spur and piggyback unloading ramp.
They look great, Lee
Nice work Lee. I've posted this car before but this looks like a good thread to drop it again.
I took the trailer off of this flat and put two Lionel chassis on. The trailer was too tall to clear my upper level so I made it work.

That is a neat job you did, Bob! I think this is a good place to show your piggyback again.

Harold now is the time there’s plenty of decal options these days compared to back in 1992 dig them out and start customizing them would like to see them.
Had a little trouble reading your post.

While I don’t have the typical 027 piggybacks, I’ve got these full size O scale cars, Lee! I barely have room on the present layout to run them! Can’t wait to see more, Lee!

Nice cars. The only non Lionel pigs I have are a Weaver B&O and WM
Lee great projects! You always do amazing work!
Bob, thats a sharp looking flat car!
Artie, nice shot of your flat cars and of your layout!
I have a silly question as I have no idea how to tell the difference. How do you tell a 027 flatcar?

Mike there more smaller and narrower than Standard O and there near S Scale with O gauge trucks I’m sure some can explain it better
This is what I’m working on tonight M&M Transport of Somerville Massachusetts. It’s very cold out so this will be my stopping point till I can get the roof and wheels paint. I’m not quite sure if they had maroon trailers for this particular logo they had but the wife came home with some Dollar General dark red that looked pretty good so I painted it they also had a red and cream logo too that I know went on to a silver trailer I’ll be picking out a good East Coast Lionel flat car for this.

Mike, the photo I took of my piggyback cars are Lionel scale PS-4 cars. They have excellent detail, and the good trucks with hidden uncoupler plates. The trailers are scale (1:48), as well. They date back to the early 2000’s.
Lee, that trailer and the flat look great. I like the idea of real wood for the flatcar deck.
While they're not TOFCs they are flats with loads that run on 027 track. First are two are Menard's USAF 14-1/2" flat cars that each had an ISO tank. I combined the two tanks onto one car and put a K-Line missle launcher on the other.
Next is a MTH RK depressed center flat that had a 1/64 tractor on it that I replaced with a LEGO submarines. I'm pretty sure it'll clear 027 switches.
I'll have to dig out some TOFCs or some of my intermodal spines and get some photos.

Lee, your M&M trailer is looking outstanding! and your custom-made flatcar is just great! But I do have a question, how did you reattach the trucks?
Artie, thanks for the information! They sure are a great set of cars!
Coach, your imagination for loads to put on your cars are great! I don't know if I am ready to think that far out of the box yet! LOL

Mark very nice I’ve never seen those before thanks for sharing
Lee, yes those are Farmall’s I was at a show a few years ago and there were a bunch on a table for sale. I had seen flatcars with tractors in some pictures and decided to buy them. Really just bought the Farmall’s because there were plenty of them versus the others and I wanted it to look like a factory shipment. They are cool looking. Just not sure of when they were built or where.
Sorry I misread the title of 027 flatcars and posted. Glad you enjoyed them though.
