My wife and I got to RT early last time, mainly because we were tired from walking around the fairgrounds.  Believe I posted already about warning the staff of the incoming flood but they were nonchalant.  After dinner we joined a few folks at the bar and were shocked how berserk the staff was. They just had no clue how to handle it.

My wife will not join me this York (we are still happily married; she just has no time off) so I will try to get to QSL early on my own and warn them ahead of the rush.  Hopefully it will be a better experience for everyone this time around.

I think folks will enjoy Quaker Steak & Lube. Although I haven't eaten at the one in York, I do occasionally frequent the one close to where I live (although I'm more of a regular at Texas Roadhouse). I always have been quite satisfied with the food and service at QS&L. As others have noted, this Thursday evening get-together--open to anyone who cares to participate--is primarily a social gathering and not promoted as a "fine dining experience." Give me a vodka martini on the rocks (extra dry), some decent food, and a good group of people to share some train-talk with, and I'm good to go!

I don't have to. I take a poll every meeting. I also get a headcount on meals served, which is a large percentage of the headcount.

By the way, I don't remember seeing you on a list of attendees for any meeting. So, if you were never there for a meeting, how would you know anything about the food service?

I had the food at both places last spring, DCS and QSL, We found the food good at both events, even my wife the most picky food critic this side of California approved, she liked the Turkey Barry...How about some Roast Beast and tatters this time.
