Oops! Run 325 Typo

A question your SW8 review in OGR run 323.

On page 28 you note the engine minimal radius is 31”.   Good for smaller layouts.  

But on page 29 in discussion on fixed pilots the article notes it meets 36” minimum.

Can you clarify?

I made a rather embarrassing typo in the latest August/September run 325 of OGR magazine. While reviewing Lionel’s new Pacemaker Mohawk, which is awesome btw, I called it a 4-6-2 instead of a 4-8-2. Ouch! It’s  of those typos that, even after multiple proofs, I just didn’t notice until it was too late.

So if you read the article, just pretend it says 4-8-2 🤣

I only recently read your review of the Lionel Mohawk and, having a grandfather who was a 42-year railroad employee with the PRR during the first half of the 20th century, I was totally fascinated by and became quite conversant in steam locomotives. My apologies.

Great review, Eric.  I saw the typo and chuckled.  Chalked it up to "S**t happens".  Keep up the good work!

I received your email and immediately forwarded it to Eric. This is the practice I follow with ALL email that relates to all editorial content provided by a specific author. Eric, IMO, you do great reviews. Perfection is the enemy of great. Keep on doing great things and we don't need you to be perfect, particularly about something so trivial.

Ah, Eric, for twenty years I have written a monthly review article for The Toy Farmer magazine. I also do editing and taught editing classes at the local university as part of my career. I could show you plenty of boneheaded mistakes that made me wince. We do our best and laugh at the rest.
