I made a rather embarrassing typo in the latest August/September run 325 of OGR magazine. While reviewing Lionel’s new Pacemaker Mohawk, which is awesome btw, I called it a 4-6-2 instead of a 4-8-2. Ouch! It’s  of those typos that, even after multiple proofs, I just didn’t notice until it was too late.

So if you read the article, just pretend it says 4-8-2 🤣

Thanks,
Eric Siegel

Eric:

I have been a subscriber to "O Gauge Railroading" for many years and ALWAYS enjoy your product reviews. They carry much depth as to quality and appearance of the item being reviewed and are always articulately written. Bravo.

I only recently read your review of the Lionel Mohawk and, having a grandfather who was a 42-year railroad employee with the PRR during the first half of the 20th century, I was totally fascinated by and became quite conversant in steam locomotives. I had not yet read this forum topic to which I am replying and notified Allen Miller via E-Mail of the error. I had no E-Mail address for you. Otherwise, I would have directed my observation to you. My apologies.

I received your email and immediately forwarded it to Eric. This is the practice I follow with ALL email that relates to all editorial content provided by a specific author. Although I cannot say for sure, I imagine your email may have prompted Eric's post here. He does a great job providing reviews for us and he has a great reputation in the hobby.

Allan:

I am sure that my E-Mail to you did not prompt Eric's forum post in that Eric posted his apology for the typographical error before I sent you E-Mail. Also, I did have praise for Erics work as a product reviewer in the E-Mail that sent you. Eric Siegal is a great member of OGR's already great team of writers. Bravo to you all!!!!

Ah, Eric, for twenty years I have written a monthly review article for The Toy Farmer magazine. I also do editing and taught editing classes at the local university as part of my career. I could show you plenty of boneheaded mistakes that made me wince. We do our best and laugh at the rest.
