My Thomas the Tank remote controller stopped transmitting: no RF output. The light functions. I want to disassemble it to see if there is anything obvious that I can fix. Maybe a lose antenna wire or cracked solder or board. I don't see any screws in order to open the remote. Can someone tell me how to open it ? Thanks !!

Thanks OldMike !!! What a great article. Lots of detail on how to disassemble the remote. Just what I was looking for. My remote also has the potentiometer stop issue described in the article. However, it appears my the potentiometer is still working as the light blinking frequency increases as the dial is turned to simulated trains speed increase. The engine doesn't respond to any remote commands but that's due to no RF output from the remote.
I was able to disassemble my Thomas Remote Control using the above instructions. Very helpful. Controller and RF sections of the PC board are apparent. Unfortunately for me, I could not identify any cold solder connections in the RF section. I could try a heat gun to see if anything pops up.
Also, for the more detailed folks, there is a handy Channel Assignment chart inscribed on the PC board. So, if you are able to unnsolder/solder surface mount resistors, you could reconfigure a remote control to another channel. There are 3 channel selections available.
