Has anyone ever made this kind of ore container in O scale?
These are known by the White Pass as Anvil Ore containers.

Have not seen that made yet. Its interesting in that it has dual bathtub style containers mounted on an ordinary flat car. Might be a interesting complement to Weaver 50' flatcars. I'd buy a few if they were made

Are those strictly ore cars, or are they multi purpose?

Lionel can have those ore containers made to mount on top of the O Gauge plastic dump car frame.
The Lionel Mi-Jack Intermodal Crane can be used to pick up the ore containers.
The White Pass & Yukon series by Lionel needs more items.

I think they were strictly used for ore transport. They are just ore containers on normal flatbeds.

I agree, there is a lot more White Pass stuff in Ho and G gauge, it's time for O-gauge to catch up. I know it's 3 foot gauge, but I still like using it with my 3-rail stuff. I think it's got a lot to offer in the way of unique and cool rolling stock.
