TCA's "Lionel Standard of the World" 2nd Edition is the best source. The book is out of print but a DVD, with color chart, is available from the Toy Train Reference Library <ref-library@traincollectors.org>

I was wondering if the TCA sells the DVD.  I am a member and looked but couldn't find it.  I am always looking for this kind of information So a reference loke this would be great.
