If anyone has the chance, I recommend a trip to view the Tomb of the Unknowns. When I was much younger we took a vacation to D.C. and my dad made sure we stopped there to see it. Don't remember much about the trip except the Sentinal guarding the tomb. If you are there, it is even more striking to see it done in bad weather.
