That would be a great idea also as he would aways step and help folks. I know he bailed me out several times when updating my DCS system and setting up the WiFi to work off my iPad.
Thank you for doing this. I'm in for a green brick(Jets). Just kidding. But I'm in 100%.
Great idea, Ben!

I’m in. Great idea, Ben.
I didn't know Marty but was inspired by the OGR articles and video of his layout. This is a wonderful idea. I'm in.
Ben, What an excellent idea! A great way to make a permanent memorial for some one who made a permanent impact on so many.
I wouldn't suggest the "layout" of the bricks be a big MF. Just saying.
Great job, Ben.
Good idea
That was QUICK! Less than 24 hours and we're over the top! Just a testament to the impact Marty had on the community.
Done great idea!
If we get the dedication for York week in October, I took off the whole week prior. Keep us posted Ben.
I have a rail at the museum. it was given to me by 3 of my friends many years ago. I gave yesterday, Great idea.
Thank you everyone that contributed I plan on calling the museum today Since there is extra money in the Go Fund Me account a few here have suggestions for its use. I started this specifically for Marty. I dont want to take away from any of the other friends that have passed but this wasnt started for them. All money will be given to the Toy Train Museum in Martys name whether its for the bricks or an extended donation. If anybody wants to start another collection for other memorials go right ahead. If the Museum allows more bricks I will expand Marty's piece. I just took a shot at a design but am not sure if the museum could do it this way. So until I discuss it with them this is what I had in mind If anybody has any suggestions I will entertain changes
Ben, Since Marty loves electrics, could we possibly add a catenary pole or two? I’m sure other forum members could add some even better options.
Congratulations on a job well done to honor a truly great guy.

Could not have said it better.
Thank You for thinking about and doing this.

I thought of that but the museum has specific clip art that it offers No electrics or catenary I dont even know if they could do the railroad track border. I also thought of adding some type of accolade in text on there just couldnt think of one
See what they say Ben, go from there. Great design.
The girl that handles the brick sales is there from 9-1 so I missed her today I will update everybody tomorrow when I speak to her
RJT posted:Ben, Can the memorial tribute include his caregiver Dot, she was there for him to the end and should have a mention in the memorial?
Have we discovered if this can be done?
Ben, very thankful for your efforts to make this happen. Well done.

I am the person who first mentioned honoring Dotty. I gave my donation as a memorial to Marty F. and feel your design is just fine.
MY practice in donating memorials --church, Hospice, etc, is to mention honor of the caregiver, spouse, significant other or whomever.
I did not know how you could include Dotty on Marty's brick and apologize for the confusion.
However, she should be recognized and honored for her extraordinary care of Marty..Perhaps a single row of bricks next to the 40 bricks for Marty. I will gladly donate if it can happen. There is no question in my mind that Marty honored and appreciated Dotty over the time that I saw their photos and videos.
Otherwise I thank you for your idea and work and will leave the issue alone.

I think a few bricks for her is a splendid idea.
Better late than never, just donated, a worthy cause.
I think we need more bricks!
BEN, I'm not sure how you are going to do this. Are you going to put Marty's name on all the bricks or what?

Scroll up. Ben answered your question before you asked it.

Fantastic, Ben!!!!!

NotLionel LLC, I don't believe that the museum will do it that way. We'll see.
Ben, regardless of what is decided, you can design my memorial stone anytime. I think that first draft looks great. But I’d be thrilled with a brick and my ashes in the firebox of Strasburg #475. BigRail
he is one of the best friends and train enthusiast's I ever met and will truly be missed very much. He would help anyone with anything! Marty n Dottie are the best friends forever!

Ben,
If the museum will allow other graphics, I am more than happy to lend my services with Photoshop and Illustrator to make a graphic for Marty.
Let me know
Looks great Ben, I hope we are able to arrange a dedication ceremony as well.
Spoke to Maria from the museum today We arent sure if they can do the layout the way we wanted but she is working on it. I added a line to the suggested layout Picture below I will update when I get the final answer
That's great Ben, I'm glad to see Dotty recognized there. She was certainly a rock for Marty through all the medical trials.
That looks awesome Ben, and like John said. Hopefully this can be done as above or dang close.
You've got them both, very nice Ben!
Excellent dedication Ben. Thanks again for your work.
