NS seems to be having locomotives rebuilt by themselves and outside parties.  I think NS is trying to advoid Tier 4 locomotives like the Black Death!

That seems to be a pretty good location to watch trains.  Your sound recording was good.  Did you use an external microphone to beat the wind noise that so often interferes in train video?

I enjoyed the tripod mishaps.  We have all had them, and you were not afraid to be honest about yours.  Your recovery was pretty fast.

Regarding the microphone, I use the internal microphone on my iPhone SE. There are probably two factors that help cut down on wind noise. First, as you can see in some shots, there is a building behind the road I shoot on, which blocks any breeze from the Ohio River side, and the tracks lie in a shallow (but narrow) valley, blocking easterly winds. Second, my phone probably filters out some of the considerable background noise from traffic; this filtering probably also removes any remaining wind noise. That said, the mic is not perfect; if the temperature is low or high, or if I turn on Low Power mode to conserve battery, the mike will sometimes cut out/make a "click" noise.
