I needed traction tires for a Hogwart's that Lionel listed as unavailable and I was able to get them from S and W Parts.
You might give them a try.

No luck there ... I am so screwed.
I tried both places a have a 8504 s-2legacy switcher with a bad cab ..
What specific part(s) do you need?
Could you elaborate a little more. What part are you looking for? What you are posting seems very confusing.
He put an extra zero in the part number. I can see why it's unavailable, it's not uncommon for the shell parts not to be stocked.

The cab for 8507 is in stock. Not a big deal to reletter if your Railsounds are engine specific.

That might be the way to go. I just checked the tower and crew talk on my Legacy PRR U28c and the sounds are not engine specific. They don't announce the engine number just say that "you are cleared outbound".
Of course, there are probably other numbers besides the two on the cab, so you will have to change something.
Can the existing shell be repaired or is it missing completely?
Could you use double sided tape to hold it in place? Perhaps the think black foam type or simply scotch tape?
I don't think you have anything to lose at this point even if you need to remove the remaining tab.
The cab is styrene. You could get some styrene stock and fabricate some tabs. If you have any old kits laying around you could use a piece of sprue. Use a solvent glue to attach the tabs and it will be nearly as strong as new. I had to a reattach broken tab on one of my engines.

The tabs on the cab of the S-2 are fragile. With that said, you have to be very careful when removing the cab, when replacing the cab if you have removed the shell, be sure to mount the shell and the backhead correctly or you will damage the cab.
