Passenger Train Saturday

My postwar 746 Norfolk & Western J pulling 6 modern era Lionel N&W passenger cars.

My Union Pacific yellow and grey Alco pair ("Anniversary" set) with extra passenger cars for a total of eight.

and

My Lionel modern era Lionel Daylight 4-8-4 steamer pulling 6 daylight "Madison" style cars and, behind the tender, a matching Daylight colored "Mint" (bullion) car made by TCA's METCA division several years ago.

What passenger trains are you guys and gals runnin'?

Lionel TMCC 4-6-0  NY Central steam engine pulling Postwar 2400 series passenger cars:

The only passenger service currently on the Plywood Empire Route is the Dinner Train a la the Black Hills Central Railroad. It is implemented using a retired Golden State lounge car and dining car. For more dinner seating management is considering adding a retired PRR Business car that is currently available on eBay at a good price. 

First Call for Dinner is at 5:00 PM and the Last Call is at 7:00. The train is drawn by PER's workhorse  SW1500.

I love long passenger trains but a small layout doesn't allow for such things. Doesn't deter me from running passenger service though.

LIRR Greenport Scoot on the last run from NY PENN to the east end.

Here are a few working their way thru the township...

The PA unit is a dummy.......just like the operator

A board and a couple of motors would be all it takes to power it. K-line used their standard powered truck and just left the motors out.

Amtrak trains departing Grand Central Terminal

On the far track, American Flyer #4130 which has a 531 Hudson and in front is a 1941 set #4119 which includes a 561 K5, 558C chugger tender and then dark Green 492, 495, 496, and 497 Pullmans. Last pic is a  1941 #4102 Royal Blue partial set...  Need to find another clean 495B coach.

Passenger trains are my favorites.  Here’s just a few.

As the new decade approaches, a commuter train full of fun loving Marylanders passes through the Philadelphia yard on its way to New York City.  The passengers are looking forward to bringing in the New Year at Times Square.  Little do they realize the massive changes, both good and bad, that will come in the 50s.

The G5 is MTH and the P70 is GGD.

I have two MPC era passenger trains, a PRR and an NYC. They were some well made cars.

From the Free State Junction Railway.... some Western Maryland passenger trains and a B&O RDC arrives at the station.

PRR is next on my list.  My #1 favorite is the MPC Illinois Central.  I bought that as a gift to myself when I turned 50.

Gotta make room for "Madison style" N&W passenger cars to run behind my N&W 'J".  I think that such a consist would look great. The search begins!

So far the only "Madison style" cars I've seen were made by Lionel in 2000. The problem with these is their O54 minimum radius track requirement. I thought that Lionel also made a "Traditional" sized set but I can't find it anywhere - none even on EBAY. Does anybody know of others by Lionel, MTH or K Line?
