I need some information about the underside of a Pecos River Brass heavyweight dining car, i.e. how the trucks are attached.  If you have a Pecos River Brass heavyweight car, please post a few photos of the underside including the trucks.  If possible, post photos showing just how nice this car is.  Do you know the size of the bolt/screw holding the truck to the floor?  Thank you, John

John.....I do not have any of these cars, however, I do own many PRB freight cars of the modern era.   Depending on who exactly made these for PRB, i.e., Train World, etc., there were three sizes of metric screws used.  One was 2mm, the others were 2.5mm, and one of my tank cars used 3mm screws.    You may find these at a local hobby shop in their small screw selections, or on line.  My 2.5 mm ones I got on the bay, from a computer supply store, of course I just need two, not 50 but I did eventually use them on other projects.     You might also have to remove the plastic car bolster that I believe were used on the heavyweight cars ( like used as well on USH cars),  and tap the hole to the next largest size.   3mm screws can be found at the local hardware stores , I know Gus Bocks' in town has some 3mm screws.    That's where I get mine! Hope this helps.

I'm in Gus Bock's at least twice a week for one thing or another.  Are your freight cars Pecos River Brass(brass) with cars in substantial cardstock boxes and foam cradles with tags on one end or Pecos River(plastic) with the cars in blue cardstock boxes with white letters and plastic cradle.? Same John Smith.  John in Lansing, ILL
