Now that's a great giraffe car, but here's a semaphore to line up with Don's:
PD
@pd- You are right my friend, that is some nutty giraffe car. It was a 5 and Dime purchase many years ago just on the basis of impulse, although I did have my Lionel giraffe car and thought it would be funny to have this one! That is a great picture, with the streamlined engine exiting the Hellgate Bridge...but I also see a Hornby dual semaphore in your picture...do you (like me) also have a bit of Hornby in your collection?

Greg, what a great overall scene! Is the building under construction from the Girders and Panels set? I had started a structure while waiting for my friend to finish the hotel across from my church. I had saved that from my oldest son’s childhood. When he saw it, he was astounded that I had it.

Yes it is. I had a Kenner Girder and Panel Bridge and Turnpike set as a kid, and I still have it. I have added other parts and sets from ebay over the years.

Following pennsyfan and Sitka ... A Conrad Dressler steamer from the years 1945-1949 (perhaps later) marked .."made in U.S. Zone Germany" pulls a string of UK "Mettoy" freight cars from the 1950's including the ALL IMPORTANT hopper car!
Wow fellows, I admit I had to search to find me a "hopper" !

@pennsyfan- Hey Bob, you know that jet powered NYC thing was actually real and set a speed record, in excess of 100 mph as I recall. Would have made a devil of a good commuter loco for sure, esp on the Long Island RR which was habitually LATE!

Yes but I think the noise was quite unpleasant. In the train and track side.
