Picked up set 6-31901 Winter Wonderland. Need information about it. | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I picked up this set out of a home in Maine. I don't think it was ever run. 6-31901. It has a box car that has a switch under it. I can't open the doors. I put it on a track & it did nothing. There are none on Ebay. What year was it made, & what was the price of it? Thanks for any HELP.

Maybe a SOUND boxcar that requires a battery? What do the instructions say?

My Lionel Price and Rarity Guide indicates it was released in 2002 and the suggested price for a set in 'mint' condition today is about $145.

Also, the catalog description itself for this set states "Christmas boxcar plays your favourite Cchristmas carols (nine-volt battery not included)". So the button is just an on/off switch.

Thanks for all your help. I put a 9V battery in the box car and it works great.
