Is there any tips or suggestions to make the playback mode more accurate for distance and location?  It seems that every recorded action I have done will lose distance per lap.  Thus a planned stopping point cannot be trusted to be maintained.  It also does not appear to matter which engine I use, I get the same results.

Any guidance?

Good luck on the answers that you get!

I started a thread a year or more ago saying the all of my recorded sessions don't play back accurately, distance wise.  Was told, basically, that I must be doing something wrong.  ONE person agreed but I'll bet 15 or more said theirs works perfectly.  Every time all the time.

But good luck, I hope you get some help because if you do so do I

I would think it's impossible to get overly accurate stops and starts repeatedly.  The electronics, and hardware are not precision enough to do this.  As well as other conditions that a recording and playback can't take into consideration.  Most do pretty well but I just can't see them being overly accurate.

I don't care who's system you are using.

We did this a few years ago and stopped right on the money that whole afternoon. Three different trains at one time on one large loop of track and several switches. Maybe an inch of difference at the end of the afternoon. This was early DCS and all power was early PS2 steam. My young nephews did this. One train at a time ran then pulled in behind the other two then the next engine inline would pull out  and the others would move up, seems it was pretty tight because the siding was just the right size for the three trains. Whistle, bell, smoke on off, and turnouts all part of recording. Believe we even marked the track where the whistle was suppose to sound.

I'm going to have to try this again.
