I agree CWEX. The first loco is an SW-1 and the second a GP-7. It looks both have been modernized or rebuilt to some extent.
The SW-1 had roller bearing trucks and the originals did not as far as I know. The SW-1 entered production just prior to WWII. I think Pennsy bought 1 in 1939. Not sure when production ended. This is a "later" model since it has front cab windows that are straight across the top. The early ones had arched windows like the NW1. Also the slope on the hood in front of the cab comes directly down to the cab front. The early ones had a step. The hood was straight out of the cab for a few feet before angling upward, again like the early NW1.
The GP7 I would think was originally built with a high short hood. I don't think any were originally built with low short hoods. As far as I know, that option did not start until the GP18 or GP20 came out. So most likely, along the way, the short hood was lowered. It most probably was totally rebuilt inside too maybe more than once.
They both look in very nice shape. I particularly like SW1s.
