Maybe that DL&W Pocono didn't like that UP caboose on the rear end.

That is a real shame, and unfortunately very similar to another person's Pocono. A guy I work with bought 2. When he opened box no.1, it was broken. Hand rails, smokebox cover and marker lights not attached or just hanging off. Box no.2 was in good condition, but was too light to pull more than a few O27 cars. He said three Madison cars had its wheels spinning. Very disappointed by them both.
My own Pocono is beautiful and well detailed. I don't have a permanent track to run it on, so she hasn't had any run time.

I am o for 3 on the Pocono's All of them are going back for repairs Two of them went about20 feet before the sideros fell off and jammed the running gear. One of them had broken parts on the front of the boiler and two of them have an EOB problem Start out real fast and not much throttle response

ricko,
before you trash weaver models for this, get all of your facts.
yes, it was only 150 models. BRASS, NOT DIECAST steam engines.
weaver models did not make these, the brass builder did in korea did.
now think about how far these 150 brass steam engines had to travel to get to northumberland pa.
1. how fast do you see these container trucks flying down the highway,
2. have you ever seen a container ship get unloaded, as a truck driver I have seen some of these ships get unloaded in port newark, have also seen some containers fall off of the trailer they were to be set on. if the pins did not line up to hold the trailer in place off it goes.
3. have you ever made a brass steam engine before, maybe the worker in korea did sub standard work for the day. you see where I am going with this.
4. and after they came off of the container they were shipped out on UPS, more hands to throw the very boxes this BRASS steam engine came in.
5. do you think weaver models asked for this to happen, REMEMBER they had to PAY UPFRONT to have these 150 brass engines made. it's costing them more money to fix the problems that they didn't cause.

A roof over my three children is a little more important than buying a train right now.

Ug. This makes me nervous. I just ordered my first 3rd Rail engine. How has their QC been historically and recently?

You mean, Weaver is still using "2-chuffs per rev."? I thought with EOB you can program either 4-chuffs or 2-chuffs? The Sunset/3rd Rail steam models come with a small slide switch for "2-chuffs" or "4-chuffs", and the number one drive axle has two sets of cams for proper exhaust timing.

IF you are in Breiningsville, Pa. You are not too far from where I work at the LV P&DC in Bethlehem Township, Pa. Also Amazon is hiring as well. Both of them are paying over $10.00/hr... way over what Wendys is paying.
