My brother has the original polar express train set and I thought that Lionel made a seperate sound tender for it. Did they make sound tender for the conventional O27 set?
I have one of those. Can't check the number right now. I paid 100.00 for it new and personally tried it a couple of times and think it's junk. I guess I got spoiled with legacy sound. If you're still interested e mail me you can have it 50 bucks shipped.
I bought two from a local friend last fall. I agree with Larry that is doesn't sound nearly as good as Legacy or ProtoSound. I put one on my early Polar Express, and the other on a 671 postwar. In those applications, it sounds very good in comparison to what they came with from the factory.
