Hi!
The sound is not working in my son's new polar express train engine. Does anyone know of an easy fix in layman's terms? It's the higher quality version, not the ready to play version.
Thanks so much!

Sorry, for asking, but is the volume turned up? Check you owners manual. Please post up the model number for better responses.
Thank you! I have the sound on-- how do I turn it up? I am not sure the model number, but here is the information on it! https://www.lionelstore.com/Th...ss-HO-Set?quantity=1
Hi, The link is for the HO train. If this is what you have and have fallowed the instructions in the set, there is probably not a lot you can do other than call Lionel for a warranty repair. The HO version is a different protocol than the O gauge version that most people here are familiar with. The problem could be in the DCC decoder, which can't be fixed, but replaced.
Lionel's number is 586-949-4100.
I am so sorry. I do have the O Gauge. I included the wrong link. Could I send photos of the underside of the engine? Would that help? OR the second car?
The model number should be on the box end. Should be six digits. It might look something like this, "2023140" or it might look something like this "6-25341". There should be a switch for the sound in the back of the engine, in the cab. One switch is for the smoke and the other is for the chuff or sound. They're either on or off. Suggest putting both in the "ON" position.
Have you read the owners manual. Some of the LionChief engines have a controllable volume controls. The owners manual will tell you how to do it, IF it is adjustable. Otherwise its a repair item at that point.
