Hello all,

I am running my 38-foot layout with two post-war Lionel ZW Transformers. With Lionel I am using the 300 TPC and with MTH I have its unit for power . I am only getting around 17 volts to the track with Lionel and MTH my Transformer output voltage at the terminals of the Transformer is only around 20 volts. Are my Lionel ZW Transformers good enough uto use or should I invest in a new one to run MTH in line now? Please advise which one of the two you would think better MTH or Lionel. I do see some hesitation of the trains sometimes. Okay

Much thanks, Jerry

What is your house's input voltage at the receptacle where the transformers are plugged in?

Are you measuring the voltage from the ZW at the terminals at the rear of the transformer?

Are you measuring the voltage at the output of the TPC 300?

Are you measuring the voltage somewhere on the track, away from the transformer/TPC 300?

On a 38-foot layout, you probably need parallel feeders to various points along the track. Have you installed these?

Are the track joints clean and tight?
