I was re-doing my control panel moving my 4 power masters from just sitting on top of my transformers to being mounted on a board, i have 4 independent loops 4 power masters,i moved 2 of them with no problem, but the third one somehow i screwed up and accidentley hooked up both the hot & common to the u post on the power master, now i am getting very little voltage to the track, just about 5 volts,i know stupid mistake but it's done,so the question is, is the power master ruined?

It's been years since I had a power master but isn't there a fuse ,7 or so amps on one of the leads from the trasformer to the power master?
Yes there is a fuse on the power side of the line going to the power master,it is ok as a matter of fact, i'm getting 18 volts comming out of the power master but i have to keep turning the throttle to get there. I switched power masters & the track i had problems with worked fine,it seems that it is not responding the way it should.
This may be a silly question, but have you checked that you haven't accidentally moved the Command/Conventional switch into the wrong position? The symptoms that you describe would seem to support this possibility.
High Nicole,Yes i did check the command switch,it is in conventional mode as it should be,but believe it or not,i figured out what the problem was ,i couldn't understand why i had to turn the throttle so much to get the engine moving & i had a hard time powering down the track,so so being the dummy that i am i said to myself, why don't i change the batteries in the remote? You guessed it ,that's what the problem was all along, you live & learn sometimes it's the simple things that work.
Hi Gerald. I'm happy to hear that you have solved the mystery, and that nothing was broken too. I hadn't realised that you were using the powermasters in conventional mode, but wondered if you were running in command mode and had the switch in the conventional position.
As you say, it is so often the really simple things that drive us to distraction.
