Can someone please tell me if a Lionel Powermaster 135 WATT 6-12867 would work with a Original Lionel ZW? Not sure what the watts is on the transformer....

The post war ZW could do about 275 watts. That was input but it's still not a good match for a 135 watt PM. You'd be better off with the new 360 Watt PM

The key is to be sure you use a 7.5 Amp fast blow fuse (fuse shown it the diagram). I picked up a used one once and found it had its outputs shorted probably due to too much power going through it.

You are using only 1 of the 4 handles or outputs on the ZW. It will definitely work on one of them. Leave the inline fuse there that plugs into the powermaster.
