Problem with brand new Lionmaster 82247 Santa Fe Class A

I know the topic of Lionmaster locomotives stopping suddenly has been discussed previously. I purchased a new in the box 82247 Santa Fe Class A. This engine works perfectly in Legacy mode but every few minutes the engine stops on its own. I have dealt with ground plane issues on my layout, and all other Legacy locos I run do not stop like this. The $89 radio board that I thought might solve my problem with this engine is not available. Anything else to try? Has anyone with a similar issue reached a solution. Can any other lionmaster radio board be modified to solve my problem? Thanks in advance for any thoughts or comments. Phil
