Hi All,
Yesterday I was running my Lionel 5340 (6-18005) Hudson that I bought at York in October and was quickly reminded that the tender coupler sits much higher than the great majority of my other cars, causing them to "slip apart" (not uncouple) in their travels. The tender coupler is about .25 inch higher than the cars that follow it. In October I ran it with passenger cars and found that I had an REA car with a slightly higher coupler that I could use as the first car behind the tender and everything worked fine. But, that was only a band-aid. Can anyone see a problem with replacing the screw that holds the tender coupler with a longer screw and maybe 2 or 3 washers to lower the coupler? Or, is there another solution that I'm missing?
Thanks in advance.
Bob
