Problem with DCS

Disconnect the TIU that you want to remain as #1.  Fire up your remote, make sure TIU #1 and #2 are added, and then you can edit the TIU address and make that errant TIU #2 again.

I tried the above and got the following, TIU #2 was separated from #1 then we turned the power on, went to edit hit TIU #2 and the handheld, to TIU # 4&5 ? Then we noticed that TIU #2 did not turn on then #1 was disconnected.

What do I try next?

Why are you changing to #4 and #5?  What's that all about?

What do you mean TIU doesn't "turn on"?  If you apply power to the AUX power or FIXED #1 input, it'll power up or it's broken.

I separated  the 2 TIU's  and the second #1 starts up. I than to to TIU set up and hit edit TIU address and hit TIU #1 and TIU #'s 4 & 5 appear? I'm totally confused.

Power up ONLY ONE TIU, the one you want to change it's number from #1 to #2.  Remote all the TIU's added to the remote except #1 and #2.  Then you can edit the TIU address and change it to #2.

I did what you said it came back out of range, then TIU error.  I have been running DCS for many years and have never encounter this type of problem.

Do you own Barry's Companion Book? It is spelled out in the book. I think you are confusing what John has been saying.

John, If he needs to readd TIU #2 which had Id change on the Estop to one.  He needs to go into remote and delete TIU #2 first.  Otherwise he can only add 3, 4, or 5.  Or only the already un added TIU #.

So first delete TIU #2 on the remote.  Then connect the TIU #1 that you want to change ID #.  Now, when you go to edit ID you will have #2 as an option.  Select it.  Then cycle power on TIU.  Make sure TIU blinks twice on the repower.  G
