Found a layout that I liked at the bottom of page 25 on the bottom half of the Track and Power catalog.

I order the track requirements listed and when putting this together I found the fastrack overlapped the board by several inches.  I am afraid if I make adjustments that this will throw the whole design of the track off.  Anyone else had problems with getting these designs to fit a 4x8 board?  I have rechecked the different sizes of track with no luck.  Thanks! for any and all input.  Dana

Here is a picture of the catalog layout on page 25 that I had planned on using.  They are marked in the upper left corner of the catalog as 4x8 and not 5x9.  Anyway I ordered all new track for this layout and when I went to lay it out I noticed it was too small for my board.  Unfortunately I have no room to expand.  I did not even try putting on the top layout design thinking that the same thing might be true.  My total layout is 8x8 and as you can imagine I am really frustrated with this dilema as I am stuck with having bought a bunch of new track to fit this design and I have no room to expand.  Thanks for any suggestions.  Guessing that the 5x9 is the correct size and not the 4x8??

Probably a mis-print in the catalog and they have fixed it in the online catalog. Look here: Track & Power Online Catalog. The page didn't link, just the catalog, so you will have to scroll through to page 25.

If you leave out the 2 - 5" straights on either end will it still fit together and fit on your table? That's the only thing I can think if without trying to reproduce it in track planning software.

There was a similar layout to this that forum member Larry3railtrains recently put together. Check this thread Extending 4 x 8 layout. Larry added a 2' x 7' extension to the end of his 4' x 8' table, but I think his plan with the figure 8 part might fit on your table. His table ended up as 4' x 10', but he added some sidings in the extra 2 feet. Take a look and maybe you can fit something together without wasting too much track. If you ask Larry, he might post his plan for you.

The track plan I am talking about in Larry's thread is toward the end of the thread, it isn't the first one shown. There are some other similar plans in there also. If you can't get anything going from that, let me know and I will try to put something together for you in RR-Track.
