Took my WiFi to a local train show to demonstrate phone control. I took my TIU powered with Lionel 180 w brick and was using a simple loop of track. I also brought two phones and a android pad. I used this same setup last year in the same location. Upon powering up all devices showed no Wi Fi found. I of course had set the settings to MTH DCS and they showed connected. I was able to operate with the hand held controller but not the Wi Fi devices. I took the units back to my layout and everything operated as it should. Some people indicated that they had problems with their phones in the hotel. Anyone have ideas ? could the hotel WiFi overpower the MTH unit? Thanks art

some times when there are too many WIFI signals like in a hotel your devices have trouble finding them I have seen that before with many wifi devices!
I of course had set the settings toMTH DCS and they showed connected
There is no "MTH DCS" mode. How many WIUs did you have?
Were the WIUs set to MTH mode or Home mode? To access both in MTH mode, the "master" has to be set in MTH mode and the "slave" in Home mode. Then, your smartphones or tablets have to connect to the one in MTH mode.
I was not precise. I was using MTH mode. I put in the proper password. MTH was recognized by the phone / tablet. I then tried to read the system but no engines were recognized, Phone would show a message that said something to the effect " make sure that the device recognized the MTH Wi-Fi." I tried with all three devices with the same results. I was able to run with hand held. I have used this system for over a year and never had this problem. Just wondering if hotel Wi-Fi could interfere with signal ?
