Thanks. Was not presented clearly.

There was an unbuilt Athearn Kit at the March Meet that was in great condition. Even the box looked new. However, I was on strict orders not to bring more items home from the boss who was with me on the trip, so I passed it up. I liked the graphics on it showing the "EXPRESS" lettering, but need to learn more of the history of what time frame that particular paint scheme dates to.
Like Eric, I'll be watching this thread and likely copying it when it comes time to repaint a few of my PRP (Pecos River Plastic) cars in this scheme. It would be nice to track down some accurate trucks as well.
Thanks for the kind words Erik but only on my best days could I come close to the great Gene Diemling. Protocraft has all the decals for the ATSF express cars, for which ever train may be your favorite. Painting my express car is a priority now that painting season has started, outdoor, in the garage. I`m doing a "The Grand Canyon". What a great mixed bag consist that train was. jefferson

I sent him an email.
Thanks, Erik. The address I have is bouncing back
Just started the painting process… Protocraft cars are a delight to work with. Note the C.O.T.S stencils on the cylinder and reservoir. A first in any scale!
Gee only the floor. "Come on Man."
But it's a highly detailed floor, man!

Do not push my buttons, Bill.
Everyone, here’s a quick pick of the finished car. I’ll take some studio shots soon.
Norm is the best, just the best! Wish I could have many more of his models.
Superb finish Santiago. Can`t wait to see what train name is on the opposite side! jefferson

I would not think of it. from Bob Harris.
Silly me. I just realized I didn’t add the cut levers, even though I already had them painted and coated. I’ll add them before the studio shots I guess.
Very nice detail work and painting.

Beautiful work and photos as always. Details are a little like editing--read it three times and still miss the obvious.
Absolutely beautiful car, and the trucks' level of detail is astounding.
