After the modification the A-unit’s DCRU will not be able to control the dummy A’s CV board, or am I misunderstanding something? Can the powered B-unit’s DCRU be used to control the dummy rear CV board?
MTH said that their special harness is not available. Looking at the MTH photos I posted on 9-2-2023 it appears they used some type of pin connector with crimp on or push on wire terminals. I wonder if that’s their “official” harness. If so, why not use the existing wires & just buy the connectors as shown?
The MTH instructions say to cut the trace on the powered B-unit’s DCRU. Any idea what that does or not do?

Yes, you must do this. Pretty sure it disconnects the internal path to that function since you're feeding it from the master. It's cut on all the slave boards I looked at, that's a clue that it's likely necessary.

I believe (I could be wrong) but it's cut to prevent drain on the lead engine PS1 battery. In other words, when you leave the engines all tethered up on the track and stop running, if the trace isn't cut, this wiring can cause the battery to drain in the lead unit, and then it's drained or near dead- not good for the typical rechargeable battery, and to even run the next session needs charged. Cutting that trace isolates in some way, so we don't have that draw while tethered but not running.
FWIW- a search on keywords "DCRU trace cut" might be one example where I remember seeing that I just said and expanded upon.

Yes I can do this for you. My email in my profile. G
Mike, I would custom wire the harnesses to make it work. Lead A power the B unit like it was a trail A except no lights on the B unit. The tether out of the B unit wired to control the dummy trail A CV light, with the coupler control pass thru the B.
Yes cutting trace is a battery drain issue. G
