I just got a Railking PS3 2-8-8-2 mallet but for some reason the sound in the engine sounds more like a regular steam locomotive and lacks the offset “chuffs”. I’d like to take up to my local dealer and have them change it for me since I don’t own a TIU. Could they do that for me if they are a service center? Also, I’d like to put in a sound set from a PS2 PRR Q2. Will I still get the advanced lighting features from PS3 even though it is a PS2 board? And will the smoke unit adjust itself to puff out smoke in synch to the two sets of drivers?
