I don't know how I missed this topic, but I see you have done a ton of work in a very short time!!

I need to go through the previous posts and see more closely what you have done.  I hope to be building a new layout in the near future.

This is pretty much what I started with about four months ago - I've been pretty busy since.

Thanks, Norm.  That was my first scratch-built building from about seven years ago.  I based it off some crude PRR drawings I found on line and a few photos.  A year later I made a trip to Renovo to measure and photograph the coaling tower; lo and behold there was a tool shed re-located to its original home.

Thanks, Brian.  I probably should slow down some, I enjoy building a layout a little more than running trains.  At least for me trains are my winter hobby; spring and summer I leave to my car and motorcycle.

I've always have been a diecast collector and I'm now obsessed with getting 1/43 and 1/50 scale vehicles, so I figured I'd use my layout to display them.  I have a few that will be arriving this week - I'll post some pics soon!

Hello PRR Fan, looks great.

It's amazing adding ballast to the track changes the tracks appearance.

I remember the first time I put ballast down on our Christmas Layout and was only going to do a small section at the front of the layout.

It looked so good I came home from Midnight mass Christmas eve and put rest of the Ballast down till I ran out.

The day after Christmas it was off to Homer City PA. to buy another container of ballast and put down some more.

I agree laying ballast is tedious but the results I think are worth it.

I am going got get one of the Flag Stop Stations,  to me the stone work is very Pennsy like.

Like the additional Diecast, The Mack truck with the New York Central box is real nice.

Take care have a good weekend !!!!!

Well I haven't been doing anything good lately.

Here's a mistake I made trying to make weeds and grass around the yard.  I hated the way it looked so I vacuumed it up.

I redid the trees around the bike shop and added more greenery.

And here's the mess of wire that runs it all, I don't know how electricians do it!

The ground cover in the yard looked good. Maybe the duller shade of darker green might have blended in a little better. But otherwise good.

The corner area around the bike shop looks great. Seems very established.

Your wiring looks great as well. Much neater than anything that I've managed to string up.

Nice work ! I can't believe how similar your layout is to mine ! Big difference is that you are actually making progress. I keep getting sidetracked by pet projects, such as some two rail O trolleys that I finishing for an inner loop on my three rail. I'm embarassed to even send photos now because of all of the wacky projects I have in "storage" on my layout. Anyway, nice work again ! forgot to ask, do you have trouble with thos Atlas uncouplers ? I found, ironically, that the Atlas PRR passenger cars I have, like to rip off their roller pickups on the uncouplers.

Good evening PRR fan, i think the green looks good around the track.

Next time maybe add some different kind of colors or different grasses to mix it up a bit.

I have used pillow stuffing that you buy at craft stores and pulled it apart.

I spread it out on a piece of cardboard and spray painted primer red little bit of green and some light tan.

I put it along the tracks using some Woodland Scenics foam glue as you did and then sprayed it with Matte Medium.

I then sprinkled some fine foliage from Woodland Scenics or Scenery Express on top of it.

To me it looks like a row of bushes or what we use to call as kids a Jagger bushes (throne bushes).

On my layout after the fine foliage I sprinkled snow on top of it.

Even though it is winter time the fine foliage gives it some color and texture.

Just a thought, keep up the great work.
