Hi,

My new R36 subway set has a buzzer sound when I try and quickly press the bell button to execute a coupler opening.  If I hold the Bell I get the proper transit sounds. It is just the quick push that does not work well.   Any ideas?  Am I too slow when I try to execute the combination?

But I am unable to get the couplers to fire (or any other conventional commands to work) and the buzzing persists even after the transit announcements start. No where I'm the manual does it talk about a buzz for a bell, but I will read it again That being said, is there a video that shows the timing for the conventional button combinations? I am unable to get anything to work Joe

Joe,

Timing on button presses is critical in conventional mode. The correct timing is 1/2 second presses with 1/2 second pauses in between. The transformer makes a difference. It will work best with (no surprise) an MTH transformer.

The standard features and their button presses are in the engine's manual. If you'd like more infor regarding transit station stops, click on the following link:

When you're ready for DCS, you might want to consider a copy of The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition.

Everything you want to know and need to know about DCS is all in "The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", now available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book from MTH's web store site! Click on the link below to go to MTH's web page for the book!

No video that I'm aware of. It just takes practice to get the timing down. Once you get it, it's easy. Just keep trying different speeds of pressing the buttons until you get it.

I think most has trouble with this at first.

Try saying one thousand, two thousand etc. and you should get two presses for each.
