I use the ps1 button on my dcs remote to start a couple of my fussy ps1 engines. I don’t see the equivalent on my premium dcs app. Is there a way to simulate that? I tried adding a 10uf non polar 50v cap across track feed but no help engine stays in reset.

You can set the starting voltage for a variable channel at 18 volts and then back it down manually with the slider or by pressing the "-" button.
Tried setting start voltage, still stuck in reset with app, still fine with ps1 button on remote. Does remote do something else?
PS1 engines need to have the track voltage below 10v when initially powered up. Try a variable throttle transformer (not a "brick") when starting the engine. You can leave the voltage on the app at 18v, as that is the max setting. Start it up with the throttle, not the app. then go back to zero, then up to your desired voltage.
