I have a PS-2 Alco PA that has an unusual problem that I haven't been able to resolve.  This is a new / old engine.  I ran it for the first time yesterday but I have have had it for about 10 years.  I installed a BCR-1 before running the engine for the first time.  The BCR appear to be  working because the sounds continue for 5 to 6 seconds after I pick up the engine off the track.

I can add the engine to the remote, start it and it runs fine including all the features.  When I turn off the track power and then turn the power back on and select the engine, I get the "Check Track" message and "Engine Not on Track" message.  I tried the "Read" feature with the same result.

Next, I went the through the "Add an MTH Engine" process.  The engine added successfully and ran just fine.  When I turned off the track power again and then turned it back on, I got the same results as before - "Engine not Found", "Check Track", etc.

I added the engine again.  It ran just fine.  I decided to reset it to the Factory Default. The screen said that the factory reset was successful.  I then added the engine, ran it, and then shut down track power.  When I turned the power back on I got the same "Check Track" message.

The bottom line is that I can run this engine as long as I add it to the remote every time I power up the track.  I would like to be able to select this engine just like my other MTH engines.  None of my other MTH engines have this problem.

I would appreciate a few suggestions on how to proceed.

Thanks,  NH Joe
