I have some extra Golden Gate Depot 41N trucks. Need to check the wheelbase length.
I have 2 OK Engines cars that I put GGD trucks on, here's one of them. They measure 8'-6" centers:

Union Station Products are BTO, my CC has been charged but I haven't received anything saying how long it will be or when it will ship. I think I'll email them and see what they say about times involved to make and ship so the rest of you guys will know.
Mr. Brebeck of OK Steamliners just replied and said that he does not have the tooling to produce a Pullman Standard lightweight with this kind of siding. I will contact him again to see if he has tooling for Erie-Lackawanna's AC&F streamliners which were used on the D&H's Adirondack when it was operating for Amtrak. I have also contacted Scott at Sunset, just in case he was running low on suggestions about what to make next. In the unlikely event that Mr. Mann is not inspired by my great idea, does anyone have contact information for Haynes McDaniel? I would really like to stay in the realm of metal trains in spite of the advances made in resin kits.
I would still be tempted to get Ted to make the car extrusions for you without any corrugation. Evergreen plastic makes the correct corrugation in 24 inch long sheets. You could add the plastic corrugation to an aluminum car. A number of us have done it and it works fine.
I wonder if a Union Station Products fluted side/roof wrapper kit would work well on an OK Engines aluminum smooth-side Pullman body?
Does anyone know what happened to the ICC product line? I would love to get my hands on the mold for the short skirts at the end of each car.
Does anyone have the Pullman drawing or any drawing that shoes the color spacing on the C&O streamlined passenger cars? I would love something that has measurements or guides.
Thanks

The book Chesapeake and Ohio Passenger Cars in Color has a painting and lettering chapter on pages 62 - 65. It says the federal yellow letterboard on the P-S cars was 16-5/8" wide. There is a reproduction of the original Pullman painting diagram, D-6213, however it is nearly illegible so you would have to find that drawing.
Ken
Thanks!!! I've got both books but have to find the Pullman book. I was so disappointed in that book when they didn't put in the widths and spacing of things.
Ken
after a cursory scan of the Pullman digital newberry library I can find the painting striping and lettering of D&RGW owned lightweight cars.
Filename . Case Pullman, 05-02-03, roll-20-CE-D-5095.tif
call# case Pullman 05/02/03 roll20
Keep in mind there are 2349 drawings with new ones added regular.
I emailed the Newberry Museum which has the Pullman plans. I asked specifically for the Illinois Central paint schemes and this is the information they sent me. I want to share this as anyone looking for Pullman information this is the source.
Hello from the Newberry: The drawing can now be downloaded(for free) from our Website http://collections.carli.illinois.edu/cdm/search/collection/nby_pullman/searchterm/MD-D-5014/order/nosort You can also now zoom in (use the button "+" located at the top) to see the drawings more clearly. If you wanted to order a higher resolution publication quality TIFF of this drawing you would need to order this through our Digital Services Department http://www.newberry.org/rights-and-reproductions To begin the process, create an account in our system(AEON). Go to requests.newberry.org, complete the registration form(you only need to complete the items with the red*). Once this is done, let me know and I can place the order for you. The base cost is $30.00. You will then receive an estimate from the Digital Department and once they receive payment, your order will be processed. If you have searched for other drawings in our online collection and have not found what you needed, we do have others, however, these are primarily organized by plan #. Lot number can assist when looking for specifications and the name of the specific car can also be useful. By railroad, you would need the drawing number. Hope this helps. If you want to place an order, let me know when you have created your account so we can get the processed started. All best,
I brought this thread back because I finally finished my C&O 10-6 and 11 DBR PS sleepers. These are made from American Lightweight kits. I have to apologize for these being 3 rail cars on the 2 rail forum, but there seems to be more of an appreciation for accuracy to prototype on this forum.

Very nice work. I've built a few of these kits myself for others, interesting to say the least!
No apologies for 3 rail needed - It's a neat prototype and your workmanship is outstanding. Thanks for sharing.
I am in the need for a picture of Ralph Brown. Does anyone have one? Does anyone know how to contact his Granddaughter? She at one time had an email of riccio2480@sbcglobal.net. Any help would be appreciated.
Jim Allen
I communicated with her a while back talking about Ralph and how I owned the lightweight side of the his original company. Could you refresh me on her name and perhaps I can find the email and phone number.
I do not have her name. only the email as stated in the first post. So since you own the streamline part of the business, do you have any roofs? Are you activily advertising?

Superb modeling. How did you add the crome around the windows? Are the windows glass? Are they flush mounted with the outside?
What did you use to make the silver window frame on the windows? It really adds to the windows more then using a line pen to paint the edge of the window punch.

Just a very small paint brush, silver paint, and a steady hand. Tedious work for sure but it does make the windows look better.

The wait is over! Sunset Models is now accepting reservations for DRGW Prospector cars. Currently only offered in DRGW livery, but MAYBE, if enough people ask, we could also get the D&H and C&O liveries, too. I reserved two 52-seat coaches from the add-on option (the D&H never got the combine, sleepers, or dome-observation cars and I didn't want to go in on the full set, when I only needed half of it.) Maybe I will be able to get a diner and/or baggage on standby.
So, come on, D&H and C&O railfans! Get those reservations in and make your money talk!
I tried lobbying Scott for the C&O cars several years ago. Then Covid hit and the effort stalled. The C&O grossly over ordered new passenger cars after WWII so much so that they cancelled a lot of them and sold many to other railroads without ever turning a wheel on the C&O. They were scattered amongst so many railroads that they were as close to a generic passenger car as possible. With the Capital Limited and now The Prospector being offered, 3rd Rail will have all the cars needed to produce C&O, D&H, and NKP trains plus various cars for other railroads that had these in their fleets.
The Prospector consist announced:
- RPO- sold by C&O to Rio Grande before used by C&O. One later sold to D&H
- Baggage - sold by C&O to Rio Grande before used by C&O. Three later sold to D&H
- Combine - one retained by C&O, two sold to Rio Grande.
- Coach - many retained by the C&O. Eight sold to Rio Grande, then five of them sold to D&H. 10 were directly ordered by the NKP of which six became N&W and four were sold to ACL (later SCL)
- Diner Lounge -one retained by C&O, two sold to Rio Grande, then one later sold to D&H
- Sleeper - many retained by C&O, four sold to Rio Grande although the RG rearranged the interior layout somewhat. C&O also sold these to the B&O and IC. NKP directly ordered 13 which in turn were later sold to IC and CN
- Dome Observation - Three originally intended for The Chessie and after the train was cancelled these were put to use on the C&O's Pere Marquette district until all were sold to the Rio Grande.

Where does the Lunch Counter/Buffet fit in?
I thought the D&H got 12 cars from DRGW: five 52-seat coaches, one RPO, three diners (one of these possibly the lunch counter), and three baggage. I do not have any reference material at hand, so this is off the top of my head.

I believe Scott's consist for The Prospector includes a lunch/counter/buffet/lounge (PS Plan 7596) and that one was eventually sold to the D&H as I listed above. The Rio Grande also got two center kitchen diners (PS Plan 7608) that are not part of The Prospector line up. The two diners were later sold to the D&H. That should come to a total of 12 D&H cars.
Ken
I’d be in for a C&O set.

With regard to liveries other than DRGW, Scott Mann wrote, "I'll try to promote and make them
available for customer reservations." So email Scott and let him know what you need:
sdmann@3rdrail.com
We may never see these cars again, so let's make this one count.
