While I don't have years upon years of York under my belt, I know what Peter is talking about. After joining the forum I mostly read posts and never really commented. Peter had a topic where he was doing some work on some layout work or such which peaked my interest. I asked him how he did what he did, so he told me. It was using spray paint on foam roadbed. Peter also encouraged me to attend York. Something I had never done. I also got encouragement from one of the eBay sellers Tom who lives not to far from me.
With that encouragement, I decided that I should do so. My then coworker Bobby was also interested and we both came. We got there on time on Wednesday of October 2017. I had told Bobby about Peter's Pre-York breakfast that we would attend. I think I was overly excited and that maybe why Bobby and I missed the turn and went down 64 I think it is. We turned around and came back to Round the Clock Diner for breakfast.
Got there later than I had wanted, had breakfast and chatted up a storm. Yeah, I'm known to talk just about anything, and talked to Mark Boyce and Sam at their table before we headed out.
Coming to York has always felt the same for me. An unmistakable feeling of wonder and amazement. Something like seeing something that is exillerating. Each year I've attended after the first, I've always looked forward to talking with everyone I possibly can as well as see everything I can see. Also, my buying list had gone from things I've wanted, to an open list and being less just buying to buy something.
Whatever this York brings, I'll definitely take more pictures where I am allowed to. I always kick myself for not taking more pictures.
