This is one of my favorite builder's photos, taken at McCook / LaGrange on a pleasant day in the late 40's.
Just happened to be the theme of my latest UTube video:
A LIFE Magazine shot of power at Barstow in 1947. This always reminded me of the lineups on some model railroads I have seen. Life imitating art, or vice versa. I don't know who the photographer was.
This is my most favorite photo of a freight Santa Fe due to the red trim that really sets the whole scheme off. All the others lack a 'pizzaz' that this one has, especially with the shiny finish!
