I just picked up the new Legacy D&H PA set (2133430). According to the manual (pg. 10), each A unit should have a unique ID# (both are powered). When the lead unit passes over the sensor track, the lights on the track flash and the Legacy base/controller picks up all the engine info. When the trailing unit goes over the sensor track, nothing happens and so I had to input all the engine info manually. Is that the way these units are intended to work??? Thanks.

Yep, the IR transmitter is in the lead unit with the audio. Look at the bottom, the trailing unit has no IR transmitter. They're considered a pair.

Paul,
Quick question for you on your new D&H PAs. The finish of the shells - do they have a silver paint finish or do they have the "plated mirror like finish" (stainless steel look) that has been on recent Santa Fe F-3 diesels?
Thanks, Rich

Rich;
I haven’t seen the F-3’s you mention, but there is something of a mirror finish to the D&H engines (I like them!!!). I posted a couple of pictures on another thread...

Hope the pics help.
Paul,
The pictures look great - that is the stainless steel finish I was looking for! Looks like these will be an unplanned Christmas present. Enjoy your PA set!
Thanks, Rich

Thanks, Rich... in the next day or two, I’m going to pull down my D&H TMCC PA’s for comparison...
And just think of me as one of Santa’s elves
