There is this MTH EP-5 for sale on the Bay. Seller points out that it runs in one direction only. The price is right. I wonder how difficult it would be to restore bi-directional running. I asked if the modification could be reversed. Here is his reply.

What do you want to do with it? change back to AC with reversing unit only?
Install PS3?, install sounds? what?
If install a Dallee reversing unit and run with no sounds - yes.

Basically just allowing it to run in both directions using a post-war ZW.
You could easily remove the rectifier, and add an electronic e-unit for about $30. Put this in and the unit will run both directions.
Jeff's suggestion is about the simplest and most straightforward. Anything else would be both more expensive, more complicated an installation, and maybe even more complicated to operate.
