I have Lionel F3's with a powered B. Is there any difference or preference to giving each powered unit it's own ID and then linking them in a TR as opposed to giving both engines the same ID.
1. Front coupler front engine and Rear coupler rear engine. Middle couplers, as a consist, don't work.
2. Front light works, Middle lights are turned off, Rear light works in reverse.
3. The TR also allows the 2nd, 3rd, etc and Rear engine to be programmed running backwards in the consist.
4. Note that all should be assigned to TR 0 when done. The engines will remember their last train assignment even if not in that train. I've had them moving unexpectedly because of a previous TR assignment.
You want a TR (Consist) to act as one engine. Mouse over image and click on the triangle lower left corner.
With one powered A and one or more powered B's I just give them all the same number. With two powered A's you would give them different numbers and assigned them to a Train but its up to you.
If you are using a Cab-2 you do not need to program them as TR 0 when you are done with the train. If you delete the TR with the Cab-2 it "unprograms" them from the train for you. If you use the Cab-1 or Cab-1L you need to do TR 0.
