I have a medium size layout and i am getting ready to wire my switches. Those who use AIUs do you operate via AIU only, operate the switches manually without the AIU or connect the switch to operate either way. I see some You tubers operating switches by app only. Anyway, I am interested which way you operate. Thanks Art

Most of my switches are by the app. In some cases, I have the button controller and the app where it is a critical switch. It also gives the grandkids something to operate. Ultimately, sort of belt and suspenders approach, but not really necessary. I
thanks for your input. I am still thinking about how I approach this aspect. Art
I use a mix of AIU control and Caboose ground throws. No Z stuff buttons. The AIU controls the switches that are hard to get to, while the bulk of the ground throws are in the yard where I'm fiddling anyway. I may change to AIU control later. Depends on how I like the manual setup.

sounds like a good solution. I am thinking about making some dual and some AIU only. ground throws would save money.
