I have been trying to find evidence that Chessie System had/used a GE 44 Ton Engine.
I see the B&O, C&O and WM all had some. I was going to post pics from the internet, but thought that might be a violation. They are there if you search.
But I can't find evidence that any of these previous fallen flags were ever painted in the Chessie livery colors.
Does anyone know? Can you point to references or pictures?

According to this roster, Chessie System had no 44 tonners, which would indicate any previous owner 44 tonners left their respective rosters before the merger.

The C&O had one 44 tonner. It was used exclusively at C&O's tiny Norfolk, Va yard. Sold for scrap in 1974 so it was never painted for the Chessie System. MTH has listed their 44 tonner painted in its final C&O paint scheme but I don't think MTH has delivered it yet.

Also, Western Maryland sold their 44 tonners of in 1964.
