No additional "safety controls" were added to the 765.

 

We have installed cab signals and made a couple of mods to add some new features to our MU box, but that's about it. The only change with the cab signals is having to push a button to acknowledge the cab signal indications. Not a big deal.

 

The cab signals were added so we could run the Conway and Harrisburg trips with the 765 in the lead. The NS main line from Cleveland, Ohio through Pittsburgh, Altoona and on to Harrisburg is all cab signal territory. Without cab signals, a cab signal equipped diesel would have to lead the train. Not good.

 

The actual running of the locomotive will not change at all.
