Question on 6-28517, goes into reverse automatically

Well, the Pulmore motor doesn't have cruise, so the speed step issue is perfectly normal.

The problem with reverse sounds like the motor is a problem running in reverse, or the board has issues.  First step I think would be to disconnect the motor and wire it to run conventionally in reverse and make sure it works without issue or drawing excessive current.

That's an older model with the LCRU2, so the electronics are "all in one" as far as motor control.

I will do that, now when I put it on the rollers everything else works, but will not go forward or reverse.

When I apply power to the track the Z4000 goes from 17 volts to 14 volts, that is just with the engine on the track, not even powered on

What would be the easiest way to try and run it conventionally?  I am guessing the boards are long gone, probably not worth trying to repair?

Well, it looks like one of the spade connectors got disconnected from the motor, reattached and motor is working again. The wires are not soldered on, they used spade connectors.   The volts on the Z4000 still drops, but would that be normal with the Pullman motor?

Yes, especially for 2 motor engines, they pull much more current and any transformer would have a voltage droop.  I was also going to say Pullmores can be sensitive to brushes and alignment of the top.  Needs to be lubricated well at truck and run in good to get smoother operation.  G
