Just getting into weathering and bought Testors paint and airbrush. How much do you need to thin the paint down and can you use another thinner other than Testors.. self brand etc. Thanks for your help.. Bob

For weathering purposes I thin Testors with lacquer thinner because it dries so quickly. I have never had a problem doing it that way. For regular painting I thin Testors with generic paint thinner.

I agree with the above reply- I also use regular lacquer thinner. As for the amount, especially for weather I go 30/70 paint to thinner- you want the weathering to go on "lightly" not a complete covering. Using more thinner gives it the dusting effect better and looks more realistic.. even 20/80 works fine for weathering.
